Pulling off the Encrusted Shoe (plus options for every budget)

Ok ladies, whether it’s right up your alley or you’d rather pass, the encrusted (embellished) shoe seems here to stay. Dolce and Gabbana popularised this design via their icon themed encrusted shoe of 2017, and the trend is still going strong in new season collections. We’ve rounded up our TWH top picks for stylish and foot-friendly encrusted shoes, with options for every budget –

1. Dolce & Gabbana Crystal Heel Suede Pump ($696 – on sale!)

We have to start with the originals of course, and if you love the encrusted shoe this style is worth the investment! These pumps would actually be really comfortable and would suit most foot types. There is no stitching across the toes and the suede would be soft over foot. The solid heel and midi height would provide comfort for the forefoot and the mary jane strap would provide stability by holding the foot in place. This basic black pump would go beautifully with jeans and a t-shirt or a ball gown – very versatile! Oh and Matches.com have them on sale at the moment!

2. Midas Pasha Velvet Pump ($150)

Next up we have the fabulous Pasha Black Velvet pump by Midas. This Italian made shoe is also really versatile and has the comfort features of a solid block heel and midi height for forefoot comfort. This shoe appears to be a little deeper in the toebox, so would probably accommodate small digital deformities. We are loving Midas this season!  Did you see our unboxing on YouTube of their boots? They are amazing.

3. Mimco Flaunt Heel ($149 – on sale!)

What about these Mimco flaunt heels? Again we have the solid block heel but a little higher on this one. I wouldn’t wear these if you think you are going to have to stand for many hours but definitely a great dinner shoe. The enclosed heel counter also aids in stability as does the ankle strap. Refer to our TWH Top 5 High Heel Hacks to avoid irritation from straps.  Maybe a silicone strip if needed?

4. Balenciaga Talon Slash Pumps ($1390)

These Balenciaga Pumps first made their appearance on the runway in 2016. The heavily embellished aplacade over the toe looks magnificent against the hot pink. These shoes have a pointed toe, so not suitable for people with bunions or wide forefeet. Remember with pointed toes that you often need to go up half a size to accommodate the widest point of the foot! The angled heel looks striking and it has other benefits! As the bottom of the heel actually sits under the midsection of the heel of the foot, it allows the wearer to place more weight on the heel thus offloading the forefoot. Another investment option for those particularly smitten with the encrusted shoe – and this one will be a shoe-stopper for life!

5. Senso Francis ($195)

And finally a flat shoe for those days that you want to take it easy. Senso have done it again with this simple slide and embellished buckle. The strap is wide enough to allow the shoe to stay on the foot. This shoe is suitable for shorter wearing periods as it’s fairly flat but it appears to have a cushioned insole for added comfort. Again you could team this one with jeans or something more formal. We love it!

We hope you have enjoyed our glittering top 5 encrusted shoes!

Happy shopping,
