Ele and Elouise at the TAFE Fashion School x Jimmy Choo event on Saturday 30th of September, 2017
As most of you know, Elouise and I recently had the great opportunity to meet famed shoe designer and custom heel maker Professor Jimmy Choo OBE. I don’t think there’s a heel lover (or Sex and The City fan) who hasn’t heard of the Jimmy Choo shoe, or lusted after one of his stunning designs. Elouise and I have always been great fans of ‘The Choo’ and we were so eager to meet him. Needless to say, we were absolutely floored and delighted by his humble generosity and willingness to teach aspiring designers and industry professionals. High off the vibe of the event, we just couldn’t help ourselves but to re-visit the Jimmy Choo website and compile our TWH picks for the season..
1. Sage
Heel height – 3.9 inch (100mm)
We love these patent leather booties – from the double bow feature to the zip up heel cup (hello ankle stability!), The Sage is the perfect heel for a night-time sit/stand event or easy day of meetings. Plus they’re made in Italy… swoon!
2. Lux 100
Heel height – 3.9 inch (100mm)
V-neck pink suede booties with Swarovski crytsal anklet? You had me at hello. The soft upper would make the Lux more comfortable and flexible for the difficult foot. If you’re concerned about the heel height, check out the Lark for a more modest 2.6 inch/65mm heel height.
3. Marcella
Heel height – 3.7 inch (95mm)
With a pure velvet upper, remarkably deep heel cup, block heel and cushioned forefoot, the Marcella is a straight forward winner. I’d love to trial these out for an all day event – my suspicion is that they’d hold up. Jimmy, would you like us to do a test run?
4. Leja
Heel height – 3.9 inch (100mm)
Look, the Leja really isn’t practical at all but for God’s sake get on my feet! Complete suede upper with hand-sewn beading detail – I can almost guarantee you’d score a date (or at least a few looks) stepping out in these babies.
5. Romy
Heel height – various! (these are 85mm)
The Romy is the iconic Jimmy Choo shoe and is available in multiple heel heights from 110mm all the way down to 40mm! There’s also a variety of options in upper material and can be ordered in almost any colour of the rainbow. There truly is something for everyone with this style which is a true investment piece. Excuse me while I place my order.
6. Freya
Heel height – 3.9 inches (100mm)
I request to be buried in these. Enough said!
