At The Well-Heeled we couldn’t not talk about the highly anticipated release of the new sci-fi movie Blade Runner 2049. Will the sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 cult classic continue with the utopian theme of rogue replicants being retired in a slow, thought-provoking way like the original film? And what does Blade Runner have to do with the current shoe season classic, the V-neck heel?
I watched the first film again to prepare for this new version and couldn’t believe I’d left it so long to re-watch this cinematic indulgence. Each moody scene is packed with incredible futuristic film noir costume and set design. And who can forget Sean Young? Gorgeously decked out in a strong 40’s aesthetic alongside Harrison Ford who is the ex-cop blade runner. Oh, and Daryl Hannah sporting a version of punk heroin chic attire. The hair!
I can’t wait to see what the highly talented Denis Villeneuve has done with the sequel. It shouldn’t be too challenging watching Ryan Gosling for a couple of hours at the very least, but somehow I think we are in for cinematic gold! I know Antoine is dying to see it to perhaps get a glimpse of what Villeneuve may do to his precious ‘Dune’.
And on that note I think it calls for a dress up when we head off to the cinemas. What better reason do you need for getting yourself the it shoe of the moment. The V-neck is a deep pump that screams the 40’s. We approve from a podiatry perspective as the deep upper will lessen any toe issues providing you buy the right size! Team it with a wide leg high waisted pant and you are set. These are some of our favourites at the moment –
